Jonathan Haidt is a Professor in the Social Psychology area of the Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia. He will be giving a presentation at the 2012 Ted Talks convention and is looking for some help from the video/film community.
The topic of his TED talk is “hive psychology” – the ability humans have to lose themselves, temporarily and ecstatically, in something larger than themselves. In his TED talk, he will begin by illustrating three ways to flip the switch: nature experiences, religious experiences, and military. To accompany this demonstration, he is looking for three short videos (animated, live action or a mix of both), 15-25 seconds each, to show on the big screen, which will be incorporated into his talk.
Your task is to create these videos which communicate visually the three life-altering experiences. Ultimately, the spot should help reinforce the points made by Prof. Haidt. Your efforts could earn you a cool $5,000. Visit the contest page to submit your proposal for the videos today!
18+, 15-25 seconds, Deadline: January 9th 2012
