Discover Chapman Video Assignment – $7,500


The folks over at Poptent are known for teaming up with some amazing products and brands for their video assignments. This time, they have changed it up a bit and are partnering with ¬†California college, Chapman University. The school’s origins can be traced back to 1861 making it one of California’s oldest, but most respected, private universities. The college is now in the process of overhauling their web presence in an effort to communicate the university’s message and create a whole new website, “Discover.Chapman.” This site will serve as a learning base for people unfamiliar with the¬†university both academically and culturally. Since Chapman understands that video will be a critical part of this new user experience, they want you to help tell the story.

Create a 30 – 90 second video (60 ideal) that tells the university’s story through the lens of the Chapman community. You should build an emotional connection between the Chapman students and the viewers. The goal is to have prospective students walk away from the video feeling that the work being done at the university is important and relevant, therefore creating an environment they can imagine themselves being a part of. Also, make note that any stories representing faculty, staff or alumni MUST be factual.

The top 5 videos being chosen will not be disappointed! The 1st place video is going to take home a $7,500 award while 2nd and 3rd place will each take home $5,000. Even the 4th and 5th place videos will take home $3,000! That’s a pretty payout across the board and means the odds for this assignment are in your favor. Download the contest brief and get filming!
