Johnsonville “Don’t Pierce the Brat” Music Video Contest – $5,000

Since when have power ballads been used to sell sausage? Apparently since 2013 when Johnsonville’s new “Brattender” campaign hit the internet scene. It’s using the Brattender character for an 80’s music video spoof called “Don’t Pierce the Brat” that has attracted a decent amount of online attention. What’s more, the campaign has viral potential with the company now accepting public renditions of the song and a $5,000 cash prize for the best one.

“Don’t Pierce the Brat”

Johnsonville is giving you the lyrics, karaoke music and even sheet music to create your rendition of the song. While the video will be judged based on creativity, quality of performance and consistency with the brand’s image, the overall concept is up to you. We checked out the public gallery and there are currently no entries, although we’re sure uploads will happen closer to the contest deadline. If not, it could mean great odds if people decide they are too shy to sing on camera.

In addition to the $5,000 grand prize, Johnsonville is also giving the winner a year’s supply of brats. We’ll brats cheers to that. Good luck!

13+, Song Length, Deadline: August 30th 2013

Hey, I tried to download the sheet music and only the first page is up. Please post the 2nd page so we can get the correct lyrics. Thanks so much!
