Beware the Jabberwock Video Contest – $1,500

ProjectED is giving you the chance to bring a classic tale to life. Lewis Carroll’s “Jabberwocky” has been passed on through generations and been retold countless times. Now the story of a terrifying monster and the young boy who slays the beast is ready for an update and the “Beware the Jabberock” video contest is giving you the opportunity to do just that.

Create a 2 minute, or less, video that brings the “Jabberwocky” story to life. It should depict strong visuals whether they are live action or animation. It’s completely up to you! The video must also include a clear recitation of the full poem, though this can just be a voice over. Your video will be judged on the following:

  • Educational merit and accuracy: Your video achieves the educational goals presented in the contest brief and viewers learn intended material from your video.
  • Creativity and engagement: Your video presents educational content in a memorable way; viewers are compelled to watch the video to completion. Does your video convey its message in an artistic, creative and innovative way?
  • Quality of video production: Your video has high resolution and audio quality, effectively employs visual aesthetics and cinematography and demonstrates production skills.
  • Appropriate content: Your video does not contain indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory, or offensive material.

ProjectED will choose a winner from the youth category (13-17) and adult (18+) category to each receive a $1,500 grand prize. A finalist will also be selected to take home a check for $250. Head over to the contest page below today. Happy filming!
