They’d like these women to add 5-hour ENERGY to their consideration set of energy-spurring “tools,” for those days when they are in need of quick, low calorie, “get-up-and-go”.

    Create a 30 second video showing that 5-hour ENERGY is the perfect solution to many women’s ‘low-energy-day’ dilemma. It is their secret weapon for finding the alert, energized feeling they need in the hectic and demanding worlds in which they live.

  • Words of Renewal Video Contest – $1,000

    Last year was a really great year for video contests and this year’s looking even better if Project Ed’s “Words of Renewal” is any indication. It’s time to celebrate the fresh start and look to some inspiring words that might just earn you some big cash.

    To enter, select a word from the following list: Activate, Generate, Salvation, Reconciliation, Insight, Transitional, Maturation, Enable, Potential, and Replenish. Then, create a 1 minute (or less) video that creatively and effectively teaches the meaning of that word. Be sure to display the word, part of speech, definition, and an example sentence on the screen at appropriate points during your video to be eligible.


    Project ED will be paying out a $1,000 to the best video by a 13-17 year old creator and an 18 or older creator. Not to mention their winning videos receive a fair amount of love on the Project Ed site as well as the education community. Head over there today and get filming!

  • Safe Water Video Competition – $1,000

    It’s time for you to grab your camera and change the world! is dedicated to finding the best videos to educate the public about the world water crisis and inspire them into action. The group is looking to you for a creative way in letting the world know that by providing Hydraid Filters to those who need safe water, you are saving lives. Watch the video below to see how these filters work.


    To enter, create a short video that answers one of the topic questions on the contest page. From there, will be awarding the top entry with $1,000 cash along with a $400 travel stipend to the award presentation.   • Barcelona 2014: Pepsi Max Video Contest – $8,000

    Pepsi has teamed up with MOFILM to bring you an unbelievable video contest…well so to speak. The soda giant knows that most people think no sugar in a soft drink equals no taste, but claim that couldn’t be further from the truth with Pepsi Max. In fact, they say it’s almost unbelievable how good it tastes and want to make it the theme of their latest campaign.

    Pepsi is looking for films that celebrate unbelievable outcomes that can result from a bit of cleverness. We’re not after ads, but real films that bring to life the spirit of unbelievable. Check out their “Uncle Drew” film below to start getting inspired.


    The winner will not only receive $8,000, but a trip to Barcelona Spain with 3 nights of accommodation. Believe that!

    If you didn’t already know that California was the best state in the U.S, it’s time to rethink your life (or maybe just this assignment). Poptent has teamed up with Visit California, a non-profit whose mission is to develop and maintain marketing programs that keep the state top-of-mind as a travel destination, and are looking for original content that will showcase the state’s abundance and unique lifestyle, bringing to life its new messaging platform and consumer promise.

    The videos created for this assignment should inspire travelers to choose California as their place to dream big for their next vacation. They want to show the world that California is a place where anything is possible, whether you live in California or are just visiting for a short time.   • “Genes & Traits” Video Contest – $1,000

    From the color of our hair to the shape of our feet, our genes and traits are essentially responsible for how we look. Genes are the building blocks inside our bodies that show themselves as traits outside of our bodies and Project ED wants to put you to work to explain the difference. Pick a single human trait and show different ways the trait can look on people. Use that single trait to give them the definition of a gene and the definition of a trait. Make sure the viewer understands the difference. Make it clear that multiple genes can contribute to the emergence of a single trait. Check out the contest video below for some more insight.


    Project ED will be selecting 2 videos for their $1,000 grand prize ( one for 13-17 years old and one for 18 and over) along with some finalists.   • “Celebration Words” Video Contest – $1,000

    Known for their educational themed video contests, ProjectED has steadily earned a strong reputation for creating some great opportunities for all you filmmakers out there. Now, they are celebrating this holiday season by offering up some great cash prizes for your great videos.  For their “Celebration Words” video contest, the site is giving you 8 words to choose from and make a video about. Look at the definitions (posted on the contest page) and figure out how you’re going to tell the story in 1 minute or less. The eight words you can choose from in this challenge are:  jovial, festooned, rousing, raucously, jubilance, festively, spirited, and flourish.


    Be sure you choose ONLY ONE word for your video and properly explain the part of speech along with the definition. The video should also effectively communicate visual examples of the word.   • Slim Fast Video Assignment – $7,500

    With the new year right around the corner, Slim Fast is not only looking to get you in shape quickly, but with wants to do it with a whole new look. Enter the “14 Days to Get What You Really Want” video assignment. The brand wants you to help them reach two radical new goals: Push Slimfast into the 21st century and force women’s reappraisal of the brand.

    The idea behind Slimfast is to swap out two meals a day for 14 days and see how good you will look and feel. Now, however, the company really wants concepts to focus on that 14 day journey along with messaging that focuses on the goal as well. They are essentially going to be breaking up videos into 5 creative categories that you can enter including (1) “Welcome Video,” (3) “14 Day Journey Videos,” and a “Congratulations” video. This will allow you a little flexibility when brainstorming.

    One other note is that Slimfast is allowing scripts to be submitted ahead of time for review. While not mandatory, this feature usually allows some important feedback to delivering a winning product. And speaking of winning product, the brand will be purchasing 16 videos at $7,500 each for a total of $120,000! We know with that kind of cash, there’s going to be some serious competition so head over to the contest page today and get filming!
