  • Got Milk? Video Contest – $10,000
    by FilmTheNextStaff
    Posted April 11th, 2012 at 1:20 am

I must admit that I recently tried to give up milk in favor of (the easier on my stomach) almond milk. The only problem was…IT WASN’T THE SAME! And while I still am trying to be nice to my body, breakfast is just not as good (yet) without good old fashioned cow’s milk. So when GotMilk.com teamed up with Zooppa.com to bring you the “Milk at Breakfast” Video Contest, I figured that would be a great time to let you in on some personal information. TMI? Of course not!

GotMilk knows that no breakfast is complete without milk and wants to reinforce this notion. They are looking for videos that defend and grow milk consumption at breakfast time in ALL households demonstrating that milk should be a part of everyone’s breakfast.

$10,000 will be awarded to the top client pick along with $18,000 in runner up checks. Be sure to read all of the detailed client rules on the contest site below to get started. Good luck!

  • Gold Eagle’s “Bad Gas” Video Assignment – $7,500
    by FilmTheNextStaff
    Posted April 8th, 2012 at 10:20 pm

According to Gold Eagle, gasoline can go bad in as little as 30 days. This can spell bad news for machines that leave gas in their tank like lawn mowers and motorcycles. They’re introducing Start Your Engines! as a “new to this world” product that was developed out of a consumer need to address the issue of bad gas. The company is looking for an opportunity to create a commercial that will catch the publics attention and let them know this product is a trustworthy option to engine repair.

They are asking you to create a memorable, attention-grabbing, and engaging video positioning the product as the easiest way to repair small engines. Plus, they want it to do so in an “anyone can do it” way.

Gold Eagle is purchasing at least 1 video for $7,500 with $1,500 in cash awards going to the runners up. Visit the assignment page below and download the creative brief to get started!

  • 2012 Guerrilla Film Challenge – $5,000
    by FilmTheNextStaff
    Posted April 8th, 2012 at 9:53 pm

The Guerrilla Film Challenge pits students and first-time filmmakers against experienced veterans and industry professionals in a race against the clock to write, shoot, edit and deliver a complete short film in 48 hours or less. Teams are encouraged to improvise, adapt and overcome all creative limitations using “guerrilla” style tactics and techniques. On Friday May 18th 2012, all teams who enter will be randomly assigned a genre, line of dialogue, action or prop, which must be featured in their film…and then they’re off!

Teams will have 48 hours to deliver a complete film, with genre’s ranging from Horror, to Action/Adventure, Comedy, Westerns and Sci-Fi, to name a few. The winning team takes home a $5000 grand prize (and of course, bragging rights). The results are often astounding. Those who’ve never picked up a camera might discover that they were born to direct while the most seasoned professionals can crumble under the pressures of such an unforgiving timetable. This may partly explain how the event has grown from a small, local contest into a global challenge spanning six continents with thousands of participants annually.

Check out the 2011 winner below and then head over to the contest page to get started. This opportunity only comes once a year!
