  • Kabbage WTF Video Contest – $1,000
    Posted June 5th, 2013 at 2:48 pm

What the fund?! Kabbage is a financial company that has created unique ways to find capital for small businesses. And of course anyone with a small business knows the challenges (aka headaches) of building capital. They’ve created the WTF (What the Fund?) Video Contest and are looking to you to get creative. It’s time to share your funding nightmare stories and have a chance at winning some cash in the process.

Create a short video that explains a terrible experience you might have had trying to get funding for your small business or project in the past. Although it probably wasn’t at the time, make the experience entertaining. It should be real and something that can be shared in a creative way through video. Also, try NOT to make the video an ad for your own company. That’s not only frowned upon, but will probably get you disqualified.

Kabbage is going to award one lucky winner a $1,000 check for his/her entry plus feature it on their website sites and social media outlets. Good luck!

    18+, 2 minutes-, Deadline: June 30th 2013

  • Rio de Janiro 2013: Shell Video Contest – $8,000
    Posted June 3rd, 2013 at 9:15 am

Shell will be celebrating its centenary in Brazil this year and is inviting you to take part. After 100 years in Brazil, their history is full of milestone achievements and transformations. Shell wanted something special and as a way to prevent the centennial celebration from feeling too corporate in listing these achievements and milestones, they are instead turning to the filmmaking to community to build the story.

Create a short film that brings to life the human and emotional journey that Shell and the people of Brazil have taken together over the past 100 years while hinting at their growth for the next 100. Choose a character whose voice will illustrate the unsung hero moments that Shell has been a part of. The stories should be warm and genuine. Since you are commenting on milestones, your story can be told in real time, in history or even in the future looking back. The company has provided a list of milestones to choose from on their contest brief which you can access through the link below. Ultimately they want an emotional film that firmly roots Shell as an integral part of Brazilian society and life.

This online grocery service has been around for a couple of year in Singapore, but definitely coming up quick and offering prices and delivery that match what you’d pay elsewhere…without waiting in line.

Now having partnered up with Zooppa, Redmart is looking to build its awareness even further with a great marketing video. • “Sunglasses & Shirts” Video Project – $500
    Posted May 29th, 2013 at 8:07 am

French band Parlez-vous Anglais has teamed up with to bring you a funky new video contest. This project is all about doing a video cover of their song “Sunglasses and Shirts.” Although the band released an official video for this song last December, they are looking for a new spin based on the concept of being funky, cool and awesome.

“Sunglasses and Shirts” by Parlez-vous Anglais

So what does this mean? Pick an everyday situation with ordinary people going about their everyday lives (working, shopping, going to meetings, working out in a gym etc). Then you’re going to turn these people into funkier versions of themselves after they put on their cool sunglasses and shirts. The situation itself should be the same throughout the video (same people, professions etc.) but performed in a different way – first being a bit boring and afterwards funky and cool. This could be the beginning of a new Harlem Shake!

A $500 grand prize will be awarded to the top selection, but there is also a chance to win some extra cash. If your video receives 10,000+ views and the link in the about section receives 500+ clicks, you will earn an additional $200. If the video receives 50,000+ views and 1000 clicks, that additional amount becomes $400. Either way the winner also takes home a $250 voucher plus will have a chance to work with the brand on a new video project. Check it out!

    14+, Song Length, Deadline: July 24th 2013
